GULFPORT, Miss. -?The list keeps growing of national leaders presidential candidate Newt Gingrich wants to resign, or fire.
On Friday, Gingrich told a crowd at a campaign stop in Gulfport ?that Leon Panetta should resign.
"I have been told that the secretary of defense has suggested that international agreements override the Congress. If he believes that, he should resign tonight," Gingrich said.
Gingrich was referring to Panetta's comments at a congressional hearing in which?he said the "goal would be to seek international permission" before intervening in Syria. The Pentagon said Panetta's comments were misinterpreted.
"Let me be clear: Leon Panetta needs to learn we do not have a United Nations Secretary of Defense. We have a United States Secretary of Defense," Gingrich said. "I think it tells you everything you need to know about how radical this administration is."
While campaigning Gingrich has called for the firing of U.S. Ambassador Howard Gutman, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Ben Bernake, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Attorney General Eric Holder, Energy Secretary Steven Chu and not to be forgotten, all of President ?Obama's White House czars.
